Do I need a doctors order for the Affordable Lab Tests?

In most cases,  lab tests do not require a doctor’s prescription. They are designed to provide individuals with direct access to certain types of lab tests without the need for a healthcare provider’s order. However, some testing providers may offer the option to have a healthcare professional review and authorize the tests based on your medical history or symptoms.

Do I need health insurance for the Affordable Lab Tests?

No. Health insurance is not required

I received normal results. Can I still contact the physician about testing?

Yes. You can email the physician with any questions you may have about your testing.

Do LABS TO GO keep my results on file?

Some clients may want to use previous lab results for comparison or to show their physician, therefore; you can always login and view your results.

Will my doctor accept the lab results from the Affordable Lab Testing?

 Your physician should accept all test results as your test will be performed by one of the largest accredited laboratories used by most physicians.

Will I be contacted for abnormal results?

Yes. You will be contacted and given medical advice by a physician about any abnormal results. The physician will give you medical advice on the necessary steps you may need to follow.

Can I get a prescription from LABS TO GO?

Depending on your medical condition, the physician will call in your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. Some easily treated conditions are STD, Yeast Infections, Herpes, Rashes just to name a few. The physician keeps record of prescriptions written for you. There is a $80 fee for prescription ordering, this do not include the cost of prescription.

Can I receive prescription without medical testing?

No. You must have abnormal results in which your lab test were performed through LABS TO GO in order for the physician to determine your treatment. Prescriptions will only be written for easily treatable conditions.

Where can I have my specimens collected?

At any LABS TO GO or Quest Diagnostics facility.

How will I receive my results?

You can view your results through our online portal. 

Do you perform OB/GYN testing?

Only if the testing can be done through urine, blood or saliva.

Who is eligible to use LABS TO GO Affordable Lab Testing?

Anyone including parents can order any test of their choice. You may order tests that will monitor your health by getting a complete work-up. LABS TO GO provide testing to anyone with or without health conditions including children and infants.

Are there any additional fees for testing?

You will only pay an additional fee if you had an abnormal result and your specimen is sent to a reference lab. Prices vary for additional testing.

How can I receive mobile service?

If you are in the Hampton Roads area, please call (757) 490-8888 to schedule a mobile draw. Additional fee apply according to service area.

What method of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards including HSA, FSA, Debit, Care Credit, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Venmo

How do I order test and do I need an appointment?

You can order test online. LABS TO GO and Quest Diagnostics both offer walk-ins during their business hours.

Will I be given instructions on test requirements before collection?

Yes. Our Client Services Coordinator will instruct you if the test you ordered require any necessary steps to follow.

How soon will I get my results?

The turnaround time for receiving test results can vary depending on the specific test and the testing provider. Some basic tests may provide results within 24-48 hours, while more complex tests may take a few days or even weeks. The testing provider should be able to provide an estimate of the expected turnaround time.

What do you need from me at the time of the collection?

A state issued I.D.

Can I order any type of tests?

Yes. You can order a single test, multiple tests or our customized test panels.

Will I be able to order the same test that are ordered by doctors when performing a routine physical exam?

Yes. We have customized Men, Women and Children Panels that include test usually performed during yearly check-ups.

Can I order tests to monitor my overall health?

Yes. Our customized panels cover testing for General Health, Hormone, Cancer and HIV and STD Screenings.

Who review my test results?

A licensed physician review all results.

Will I be contacted although my results are normal?

Yes, due to our quality customer service, we call all clients regardless of your results.

Can I order testing for my child?

Yes. You can order any tests for your child, also see our customized Children’s panel.

Will my insurance cover the Affordable Lab Tests?

No. If you want your insurance to cover your lab testing you will need a doctor’s order. 

Why is the Affordable Lab Test beneficial to me?

The benefit from the testing allows you to avoid the large out-of-pocket expense due to not having health insurance.. You can monitor your health without a doctors order and only any tests any time you want. You can receive prescriptions for easily treated conditions without a doctor’s visit. 

Do LABS TO GO offer Affordable Lab Tests in other cities and states?

Currently we are only offering this service in the state of Virginia. We will be expanding to other states soon.

Will my lab tests be accurate?

What is affordable lab test?

An affordable lab test refers to a service that allows individuals to request and receive various medical laboratory tests without the need for a doctor’s prescription or an appointment with a healthcare provider. These tests can provide valuable insights into an individual’s health status.

How long do I need to fast before having my blood drawn?

You should not eat anything 8 to 12 hours prior to collection, you can drink as much water as you like and take your daily prescribed medications unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Drink plenty of water 30 minutes before we arrive if urine collection is needed.

What specimens can you collect?

Blood, urine and saliva.

How long do the collection process take?

The entire process should take no more than 15 minutes.
